One of the most popular regions in AJK is the majestic bow shaped Neelum Valley covered with thick forest. The region is named after the magnificent Neelum river which wanders through the length of the valley singing the song of its wilderness and serenity. The giant snow-covered peaks of about 4000 meters (13,000 ft) above sea level will leave startled, separating the region from the Kaghan Valley which runs parallel to it. Neelum Valley is situated in the north-east of Muzaffarabad and is connected by Neelum road which leads up to Kel , a beautiful small village in Azad Kashmir. From there, you head towards Arang Kel, another famous tourist spot in the Neelum Valley which is accessible by 2 km trek from Kel.
